Adult Wheel Throwing Course.

Glen’s 6 week Adult Wheel Throwing Course is an introduction to clay preparation, centering clay, making small bowls, creating cylindrical forms, turning bowls and pottery decoration. At the end of the 6 week course you will be taking home beautiful created pots made by yourself. Course fee which are $450 includes White Midfire clay and Recycled clay, glazes, under glazes, Glaze and all firing.

(Please understand I only have 6 wheels so places are hard to get)

PLEASE NOTE:
Glen Wardle Ceramics is a small home base studio and can only accommodate 6-wheel students at a time per class. Please understand current students have first preference on the next term of classes and then I fill the rest from the waiting list.

Course Outline.

 

Week 1.

 

Introduction to clay preparation, centring and making small bowls.
Students to bring - Towel or apron and enthusiasm.

 

Week 2.

 

Making cylindrical forms and turning bowls.
Students to bring - Students Note and concentration.

 

Week 3.

 

Continue throwing making plates and turning all forms.
Students to bring - Towel or apron, pot making ideas (sketches).

Week 4.

 

Back to larger cylinders, turning all forms and continue throwing.
Students to bring - Towel or apron and passion.

 

Week 5.

 

Bisque firing, pot decoration.
Students to bring - Towel or apron, decoration ideas. Energy and oomph.

 

Week 6.

 

Pot decoration.
Students to bring - Towel or apron and pictures of decorated pots they might like to do.
