Have a Go - Pottery Taster Session
Pottery Taster Session.
Glen Wardle Ceramics is offering a 2 hour introductory ‘Have A Go – Taster Session’ where you will learn to centre clay on the wheel, throw a cylinder or bowl, which is the starting point for most vessels. You will be given a pottery wheel throwing demonstration and be introduced to the basics of the wheel and tools.
Next you will get the chance to make something. A pot or small vase is a good starting point and is a fun way to help you get used to handling clay. You can also try out some different techniques. During the 2 hour session you may possibly make between 4-6 items.
At the end of the session you will be able to choose three pieces to keep. Glen will turn the base of your 3 pieces and will bisque fire your items and then glaze and fire them in either a Matt white or Gloss white glaze (this process will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks). You will then be contacted and will be able to organize a time to come and collect your finished items.
We cater to students 18+.
